NAB 2008: Canon`s new HD lens system is a hit
Just like clockwork, my trip to NAB always includes a wonderful dinner with the folks at Canon. I am lucky enough to be invited and to try out Canonâ??s amazing new cameras. At this yearâ??s event Canon introduced a new line of HD lenses for broadcast.

NAB 2008: Sony Creative Software, Boinx Software and NAB 2008 wrap up
Two of Sony Creative Softwareâ??s major showcases at NAB 2008 were prosumer and professional Blu-ray authoring. Now that Blu-ray Discs (BD) are the industry standard, Sony is offering DVD Architect 5 to the indie filmmakers, producers and videographers. Whatâ??s really cool is you can create one project file and burn either a standard definition (SD) or Blu-ray DVD. Itâ??s a free upgrade for Vegas Pro 8 users who are registered with Sony Creative Software.

NAB 2008: Panasonic's new AVCCAM camera to capture to SDHC cards
Panasonic, always on the cutting edge, unveiled its new AG HMC 70 camera at this yearâ??s show. The HD camera shoots 1080 to an SD card. Panasonicâ??s Robert Harris took me through the process and discusses its AVCCAM format.

NAB 2008: Artbeats Experts
All new footage you can use including HD and SD formats
At NAB there are many who attend to look for footage, and I couldn't really figure out why some footage vendors were in one spot, while other vendors were in another, but my favorite resource, Artbeats, was positioned nearby Adobe's and MAXON's booth, making them a very obvious vendor to visit.

NAB 2008: JVC's David Walton discusses HD
After shooting my last film on a JVC HD100 camera and loving it, I was excited to see what was new at the JVC booth at this year's NAB. Not only did I get a glimpse at some super hot cameras but David Walton, JVC's marketing wizard, took some time to explain JVC's new 20mb system.

NAB 2008 : Talking subscriptions with Autodesk
With industry leading applications like Flame, Smoke, and Lustre, Autodesk is a force to be reckoned with. When the company moved to a subscription model for its applications many sighed, even kicked the ground. Was Autodesk up to the task of reliability? The answer was yes.
