![]() Making Every Second Count Fox’s 24 Paces Itself for Real-Time Drama When Jon Cassar, director and producer of Fox’s television series 24, was first pitched the concept of a real-time show, he recalled thinking, “Gee, that sounds kind of boring.” Visions of the main character taking a four-hour nap sprung to his mind. “Luckily,” he says, “Joel Surnow [the show’s creator and executive producer] had other ideas.” Now, 24, which has just finished its second season, with a third season in development, has quelled fears that real-time equals real-boring.
