In March, UK-based Narrowstep Inc, launched www.high.tv, as the Internet’s first scheduled television channel featuring outdoor action, adventure and extreme sports. The first few month’s viewing numbers show that the concept is receiving a warm welcome from a global audience and advertisers and sponsors look to embrace the business model that Narrowstep has developed.
Portable chromakey makes life easier
Lately I have become a chromakey nut. It probably started last year when I wrote the Hologram tutorial and wrote extensively about how to properly light and set up a green or blue screen shoot. Not one who likes to be confined to the studio for my green screen work, I have been looking for portable convenient greenscreens to aid in my many shoots.
Fragmented hard drives suck. They slow down your system, wreak havoc on your system's resources, cause unnecessary wear to your hard drive heads, and help to promote dropped frames when capturing video. While Microsoft's operating systems ship with a built-in disk defragmenting application, it is basic in scope and limited in functionality. Raxco Software has created a disk defragmenter that provides more functionality in a tool that not only let's you defrag your hard drives locally, but across a network to multiple drives at regularly scheduled intervals.
