Industry luminaries gather to discuss the post industry In mid-November (2002), Quantel held a series of seminars and panel discussions at the Directors Guild of America (DGA) headquarters in Los Angeles. In one particularly interesting panel discussion, four prominent postproduction facility officials discussed the post business, how it's makiing progress, and what's holding it back in today's harsh economic climate. Digital Media Net was there, and brings you this word-for-word transcription of the panel discussion entitled "The Business of Post". The VHS tapes were not a problem; there is a dubbing facility next door. However, trying to find a place locally that could duplicate DVDs in a short turn around time (clients always need it tomorrow) is impossible. Fortunately I was armed with a couple of Macs and lots of blank DVDs.

It was just downright startling.
