L-VIS is King It was a warm spring afternoon and four of us TV types were driving back from a camera demo. Maybe it was the sun, maybe it was the hypnotic drone of the snow tires on dry pavement, but no one was talking. I was almost asleep when Dan's voice split the silence. "How do you figure they do that line thing?" We all knew what he was talking about. "The virtual first down markers, right?" We had all given it some thought. And I thought, Oh yeah? We'll see about that. ![]() $1100 unit to ship in Japan November 1 Sony Corp. previewed a new Internet-enabled personal video recorder (PVR) that gets its program scheduling information from a broadband connection to the Web, and is able to record 15 hours of HDTV programming.
