House Commerce Committee chairman sets September deadline for agreement on copy protection Citing continuing delays in the implementation of Digital TV, the chairman of the House Commerce Committee set a September deadline for the entertainment and computer industries to agree on how to deliver DTV while protecting content from unauthorized distribution over the Internet. Reps. W.J. "Billy" Tauzin (R-La.), the committee chairman, and John Dingell (D-Mich.), the committee's ranking democrat, said they will settle the controversy in Congress if the industries can't come to some sort of agreement. Discreet today announced new product releases for inferno 5, flame 8 and flint 8 systems.
